Paying the Price - Home Office consultation on (some bits of) sex work law
The long-awaited consultation paper was published on Friday 16th July and is now available on the Home Office's website. Their deadline for responses is 26th November 2004.
In the meantime... what do you think?

Large sections of this have to be one of the most patronising 'consultations' ever: "We're against child prostitution and sex slavery - please tell us just how right we are!?"
Fortunately there are some more interesting bits tucked away towards the back, like the question of legalising some brothels (even if they don't put it quite like that) and toleration zones for street workers.

There is an absolutely fabulous analysis of the lies and misleading statements in the consultation and the response at
www.bps.org.uk/dcp-sexhealth/events/events_home.cfm in the 'Government strategy on sex work - a comedy of errors or attack on civil liberties' document.

So, what do you think?
(To save you asking, no-one knows of any genuine agency looking for straight men
who only want to escort women. Sorry. There are free places to advertise,
but one such site has over four thousand optimistic men already...)
